Eläinkortteja / Animal cards

Painatin syksyllä ensimmäiset taidekorttini ja se on ollut tosi jännittävää! Olen kiitollinen siitä, että ne ovat saaneet niin ihanan vastaanoton. Mahtavaa, kun muutkin tykkäävät näistä. Kortteja on suomeksi ja englanniksi.

Korteissa on sekatekniikalla toteutettu tausta, johon on liimattu päälle vanhasta eläintietokirjasta leikattu eläimen kuva ja romaanista leikattu teksti. Pidän siitä huumorista, mikä syntyy, kun nämä yhdistää.

This autumn I have made my very first art postcards ever and it has been super exciting! I’m grateful how well they have been received. It’s fantastic that other people like them too. I have cards in Finnish and English.

I have made the background on these cards with mixed media techniques and collaged an animal picture from old animal encyclopedias and text from old novels on top. I love the humor that this combination brings.

Joulukortteja / Christmas cards

Tein tänä vuonna ensimmäistä kertaa joulukortteja myyntiin ja se on ollut tosi jännää! Tein joulunpunaisia kortteja yhteensä 6 kpl, joista 3 kpl on suomeksi ja 3 kpl on englanniksi. 

This year for the first time I made my own Christmas cards to be sold. It’s has been super exciting! I made six different Christmas cards, three in Finnish and three in English.

OKTK DT #77: Puettu hahmo / Dressed figure

"The snow rings, the snow rings, the spring comes with smelling winds."

Elokuun OKTK-haasteessa tehdään Skinny-kortti, jossa on puettava hahmo, jolla on lisävaatteita esim paperinukketyyliin. Tässä minun puettu lintuni, jolla on kaksi lisähametta. Aikamoiset pukujuhlat!

In the OKTK challenge in August we make a Skinny card with a paperdoll with various outfits! Here is my dressed bird with two extra skirts. She is going to a wild costume party.

Kortin taustalla on oma gelli-printti ja kirjasta leikattu linnun pää. Linnun hameissa on luontoteema: metsä, meri ja värikkäät kalliot. Lisähameet voi laittaa linnun päälle kuten paperinukelle. Kortissa on oikeissa kohdissa pienet reiät.

The background is a Gelli print of mine and the bird's head is cut from a book. The bird’s dresses have a nature theme: forest, sea and colorful rocks. Extra skirts can be put on the bird like on a paper doll. There are small holes in the right places on the card.

Lisävaatteet laitoin kuvauksen jälkeen pieneen muovipussiin, jonka kiinnitin teipillä kortin taakse. Tällä tavalla varavaatteet eivät katoa!

After taking the pictures, I put the extra clothes in a small plastic bag, which I attached with tape to the back of the card. This way the spare clothes will not get lost!

Paper doll / Paperinukke

 

Koronakeväänä tapasin hyvin vähän ihmisiä ja se harmitti etenkin pienten kohdalla. Siksi tein kahdelle tärkeälle pienokaiselle Siiri-paperinuken. Tällöin olen mukana leikkimässä ja syömässä. :)

During the corona spring I didn't see that many people and it was sad especially with the smaller ones. Therefore I made two Siiri paper dolls for two important babies/toddlers. This way I could join the playing and eating. :)

Leikkasin lehdistä eri kehon osia ja liimasin ne valkoiselle kopiopaperille. Sitten leikkasin koko hahmon ja päällystin päältä ja alta kontaktimuovilla (samaa jolla päällystetään koulukirjat), jotta se kestäisi paremmin kovaa menoa. Tällöin siinä ei myöskään ole liian teräviä reunoja. Pää on omasta valokuvastani. Valitisin siihen hauska selfie-kuvan.

I cut different body parts from magazines and glued them on white copy paper. Then I cut the whole figure out and covered the front and back with flexible plastic (the same as used for covering school books) to make it more resistant to the games. In this case, it also doesn't have sharp edges. The head is cut from a photo of me. I chose a funny selfie for this. 

Nämä kaikki nuket ovat siis tehty neljästä eri osasta: pää, keskivartalo ja kädet, hame ja jalat ovat eri hahmoista. 

All paper dolls are made of four different body parts: the head, the torso and arms, skirt and legs are all from different figures. 

Tein myös lentävän sammakon. Puolitoistavuotias nimesi tämän "oudoksi". :)

I also made a flying frog. The 1,5-year old named this one "the strange one". :)

Lintukortteja / Cards with birds

Tein nyt keväällä useamman lintukortin. Löytämäni lintukirja on ollut täydellinen askarteluaarre! Nämä kolme korttia annettiin äitienpäivänä.

I made several bird cards this spring. The bird book that I had found has been an amazing craft treasure! These three cards were given on Mother's Day.

Tämä lintu toivotti veljelleni hyvää syntymäpäivää.

This bird wished my brother happy birthday.

Tämä pöllö pyytää ihanaa ihmistä treffeille. 

This owl is asking a wonderful person for a date.

Missä tarinat kasvavat / Where stories grow

Sain askartelulehden mukana keväisen leimasetin, jossa on kukkia ja ruukkuja. Ajattelin, että on tylsää, jos ruukuista kasvaa kukkia. Päätin pitää hauskaa ja ruukuista kasvoi siksi erilaisia tarinoita! Taide on myös hauskanpitoa.

I got a spring stamp set from a craft magazine with flowers and pots. I thought it would be boring if it was flowers growing out of the pots. Instead I had fun and stories grew out of the pots! Sometimes art is just about having fun.

Kuvat leikkasin aikakausilehdistä. Kala on eläinkirjasta.

I cut the pictures out of magazines. The fish is from an animal book.

Innostuin ruukkutarinoistani niin paljon ja tein siksi myös pienen ATC-sarjan niistä.

I got so excited about my story pots so I made a small ATC series as well.

Kollaasikuvia voi käyttää niin monella eri tapaa, eikö niin? :)
