ArtGrupa ATC March 2020

Maaliskuussa ArtGrupa ATC-haasteessa oli aiheena "birthday" eli syntymäpäivä. Syntymäpäivä saattoi olla omasi, rakkaaksi, lemmikkisi tai kasvisi. Omassa ATC-sarjassani kaktus juhlii syntymäpäiväänsä. 

In March in the ArtGrupa ATC challenge the theme was birthday. The birthday could be your own, your loved one's, your pet's or your plant's. In my ATC series a cactus is celebrating it's birthday.

Lintukortteja / Cards with birds

Tein nyt keväällä useamman lintukortin. Löytämäni lintukirja on ollut täydellinen askarteluaarre! Nämä kolme korttia annettiin äitienpäivänä.

I made several bird cards this spring. The bird book that I had found has been an amazing craft treasure! These three cards were given on Mother's Day.

Tämä lintu toivotti veljelleni hyvää syntymäpäivää.

This bird wished my brother happy birthday.

Tämä pöllö pyytää ihanaa ihmistä treffeille. 

This owl is asking a wonderful person for a date. 

Linnut ovat mainioita, eivätkö olekin?

Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge DT #23: syyskuu / September

Nyt tämän kuun haasteessa innostuin taustan tuherruksesta ja siitä tuli myös kortin syntymapäiväteksti. :)

Now I was inspired by the scribbles behind the picture in this month's challenge. They also gave the the text quite naturally. :)

Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge DT #19: Toukokuu / May

Jehkottaren CRAFTchallenge -haasteen punaiset marjat inspiroivat tällä kertaa. Loppujen lopuksi kuplamuovilla ja maalilla leimatut "marjat" eivät paljoa taustasta enää näykään. :)

This time I was inspired by the red berries in the Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge. In the end my "red berries", stamped with paint and bubble wrap, are not that visible anymore in the background. :)

Kukkakortti / Flower card

Minulta tilattiin iso kukkakortti syntymäpäiväkortiksi ja tein tämän, jossa on mm. gessoa, leimausta, micaa ja kohopastaa, chippies-kuvioita, mistisuihketta, washiteippiä ja värillistä kartonkia. Hävitin i-kirjaimen pisteen askartelun touhussa. En stanssannut uutta vaan keksin laittaa siihen kohokynällä punaisen pisteen. Mielestäni jopa parempi tulos näin! :)

A big flower birthday card was ordered from me and I made this one, which has among others gesso, stamping, mica and gloss paste, chippies, mist, washi tape and colored cardboard. I lost the dot for the letter i in my messy crafting action. I didn't cut a new one with the die, but put a red dot with a 3D pen. I think it looks even better like this! :)

Japanihenkiset kortit / Japanese-style cards

Kesäloman Japanireissun jälkeen innostuin tekemään muutamia japani-aiheisia kortteja. Ostin kala-aiheista origamipaperia ja halusin tehdä sen avulla pieniä kalalampia kortteihin. Tein kaksi vähän erityylistä korttia, joissa hyödynsin myös aiemmin askartelulehdestä saatuja orientaalileimasimia. Lammen ympärillä olevat pikkukivet pyöräytin Fimo-massasta. Onneksi löysin valmiiksi kiven väristä massaa. :)

After our summer holidays in Japan I was inspired to make a few Japanese-themed cards. I bought fish-themed origami paper and I wanted to make fish ponds with it. I made two similar cards, where I also used oriental stamps I obtained previously from a crafting magazine. The small stones around the pond I rolled out of modelling clay. Fortunately, I found clay with stone-color. :)

Ensimmäinen kortti lähempää / A closer look on the first card 

Ostin kesän Japanin matkaltamme itselleni jonkin verran käsityötuliaisia. Tässä käytin seuraavia materiaaleja:

I bought myself some handicraft souvenirs from our Japan in the summer. Here I used the following materials:

- pyöreä leima / round stamp

- origamipaperia / origami paper

- teippi / masking tape

- japanilainen sanomalehti / Japanese newspaper

- skräppipaperia / scrapbooking paper

Toinen kortti / The second card

Tässä käytin lisäksi myös hauskaa karhutarraa ylläolevien materiaalien lisäksi.

In addition to the above named materials, I also used a fun bear sticker.

Kokeilin tässä myös pieniä helmiäni, jotka toivat lisää ulottuvuutta ja säihkettä kukkiin.

I used also my small pearls, which brought more dimension and sparkle to the flowers.

Miehinen syntymäpäiväkortti / Manly birthday card

Isälläni oli syntymäpäivä ja yritin tehdä "miehisen" kortin ja tämä on nyt oma värikäs tulkintani siitä. :) Tekstissä on tarkoituksella muutama kirjain väärinpäin.

My father had his birthday and I was trying to make a "manly" card for him. This is my own colorful version of that. :) Some letters are the other way around on purpose.

Alhaalla on metallisia rattaita, joita kokeilin tässä ensimmäistä kertaa. Niiden vastapainoksi laitoin mukaan muutaman kukkasen.

On the lower corner I put some metallic cogwheels that I tried the first time. To balance them out I put a few flowers next to them.

Lisää väriä toin tuputtamalla sormin keltaista ja sinistä maalia. Maali on kyllä täydellinen tapa saada lisää ulottuvuutta ja väriä kortteihin! Huono puoli siinä on toki, ettei sitä voi peruuttaa, jos väritys menee pieleen. :D

I put extra color with some yellow and blue paint that I painted with my fingers. Paint is a perfect way to get more dimensions and color on cards! There's a disadvantage though: you can't remove it anymore in case it goes wrong. :D

Vintage synttärikortti / Vintage birthday card

Halusin tehdä tämän kortin vintage-tyyliin, koska tiesin, että vastaanottaja tykkää siitä. Toinen syy oli, etten ole tehnyt sellaisia juurikaan. Eli uutta minulle! En kuitenkaan osannut tehdä täysin "vanhan" näköistä kortti ja siksi tässäkin on vähän omia mausteitani eli glitteriä (yllätys! :D) ja itsetehty nappi muovailumassasta.

I was planning to make this birthday card with a vintage theme, because I knew that the receiver would like that. And another reason was that I have hardly done vintage cards so something new for me too! I didn't really know how to make and "old-looking" card, so also this one has a touch of me like glitter (surprise! :D) and a self-made button out of modelling clay.

Uudet jutut / New things:

* Uutta paperia ja uusia kukkia / New paper and new flowers

Napin tein itse Fimo-muovailumassasta. Tein kerralla useampia eli niitä saattaa tupsahdella myöhemmin lisää. :)

The button I made myself out of Fimo modelling clay. I made several at the same time, so you might see more on cards later. :)

Tekstipalluraan liimasin koristeeksi kolme kukkaa ja glitteriä.

The text is decorated with three flowers and some glitter.

Valkoisen pitsin värjäsin tummanruskeaksi Distress Ink -musteella, koska en halunut valkoista tähän korttiin.

The lace wasn't brown (and I didn't like white on this card), so I colored it with Distress Ink.

Tekstin takana oli vielä "turhaa tilaa" ja siksi heilauttelin vesiväripensseliä siellä muutaman kerran tuomaan lisää väriä. Taustassa on myös ruskeaa Distress Ink -mustetta. 

Behind the text was still some "extra space", which I filled with watercolor. The background has also Distress Ink.
