OKTK DT #78: Aarrekartta / Treasure map

In the new monthly challenge we make treasure maps. Did you also make these when you were a kid? It was exciting to create new worlds this way. Would you have the courage to follow this map to the gold coins?

Käytin aarrekartassani vanhaa paperia, jota vanhensin musteilla lisää. Nyt onnistuin käyttämään myös keräämiäni inchie-kokoisia kuvia! Ne ovat jääneet käyttämättä, koska teen aika harvoin inchie-kortteja. Miltä sinun aarrekarttasi näyttäisi?

I used old book paper, which I coloured with ink to make the paper look even older. And I finally found use for the inchie card sized pictures that I’ve been collecting, but not really using. How would your treasure map look like?

Aarrekarttani mukana tulee yksi kultaraha! Se on tehty aaltopahvista. Liimasin siihen kolikon kuvan molemmille puolille vanhasta kirjasta ja maalasin päälle kultaisella akryylimaalilla. Tummensin Distress Ink -musteella vielä reunoja.

My treasure map comes with one gold coin! It is made out of corrugated cardboard. I glued a picture of a coin on both sides of an old book and painted it with gold acrylic paint. I darkened the edges a bit with Distress Ink.

ArtGrupa ATC August: Triangle

In the August ArtGrupa ATC challenge the theme was triangle. Now I went inside my comfort zone and made animal stories. The party hat is a triangle. :)

ArtGrupa ATC-haasteessa elokuussa aiheena oli kolmio. Nyt menin oman mukavuusalueen sisällä ja tein eläintarinoita. Juhlahattu on kolmion muotoinen. :)

ArtGrupa ATC July: Art Nouveau

Heinäkuussa ArtGrupa ATC-haasteessa oli aiheena Art Nouveau. Minulle tämä oli hieman haastava aihe, mutta löysin tyylilajista muutamia inspiroivia yksityiskohtia, joita käytin korteissani: nainen fokuksena, kukkainen tausta ja tyylikkäät reunat.

In July in the ArtGrupa ATC challenge we had the theme of Art Nouveau. For me, this was a bit of a challenging topic, but I found a few inspiring details in this genre that I used in my cards: a woman as the focal point, a floral background, and stylish edges.

ArtGrupa PCJ June: Clothing tags and barcodes

In the June ArtGrupa PCJ challenge we used old clothing tags, barcodes and QR codes. I have already some collected clothes tags in my stash, but I had to hunt the other codes at home. The price stickers are from some stamps that I haven't taken off yet. This was meant to be! :) I coloured the codes and price stickers brown with some watercolours, so they wouldn't pop out of the background too much. The background has again a lot of colour. And I also found a perfect picture for my shopping theme!

Kesäkuun ArtGrupa PCJ -haasteessa piti käyttää vanhoja vaatetägejä, viivakoodeja ja QR-koodeja. Vaatetägejä olen kerännytkin, mutta muita piti vähän metsästää kotoa. Minulla oli sopivasti muutama hintalappunenkin leimoissa tallessa, jotka revin irti tähän korttiin koristeeksi. Värjäsin ne vesiväreillä ruskeammaksi, etteivät ne tule taustasta ihan liikaa esille. Taustassa on taas paljon väriä. Löysin shoppailuaiheeseen sopivan kuvankin!

I was inspired to use clothing tags also in the ATC series, which I did at the same time as the PCJ card. I use clothing tags very rarely (hidden somewhere in my stash), but they do bring some interesting extra texture to the cards.

Inspiroiduin käyttämään vaatetägejä myös ATC-sarjassa, jonka tein samalla kuin PCJ-korttia. Tägit ovat jääneet minulla hyvin vähälle käytölle (ehkä ovat liian piilossa), mutta ne tuovat mielenkiintoista lisätekstuuria kortteihin.

OKTK DT #75: Gothic Arch

Kesäkuun OKTK-haasteessa tehdään vapaalla mixed media -aiheella Gothic Arch -kortti. Käytin tässä itsetehtyä kasvisabluunaa ja Frankie-lehdestä leikattua lausetta.

In the June OKTK challenge, we make a Gothic Arch card with a free mixed media theme. I used a self-made botanical stencil and a phrase cut from an old Frankie magazine on my card.

OKTK DT #74: ATC

Toukokuussa OKTK-haasteessa tehdään ATC-kortti, jossa on läpinäkyvä muovi, jonka voi nostaa pois. Sen päälle on leimattu tai piirretty jotain, mikä muuttaa ATC:n kuvaa. Muovikerroksen ei ole tarkoitus peittää kortin alkuperäistä kuvaa liikaa. Omaa korttiani inspiroi takatalvi... vai onko se Suomen kevät. ;)

In May in OKTK (Have You Ever Made a Card) challenge we make an ATC card with a transparent plastic sheet that can be lifted off. It adds something that changes the image of the ATC and it can be stamped or drawn. The plastic layer is not meant to cover the original image too much. My own card is inspired by the spring in Finland. ;)

Note! If you are planning to use embossing powder on the plastic layer, make sure the plastic can be heated!

I didn’t have enough pictures or stamps of tulips, so I drew them myself. I used watercolors to color them.

Minulla ei ollut tarpeeksi kuvia tai leimaa tulppaaneista, joten piirsin ne itse. Käytin niiden värittämiseen vesivärejä.
