Sormet maaliin / Fingers into the paint

Luin jostain, että sormet kannattaa laittaa maaliin ja kokeilin sitä. Kannatti! Se on kieltämättä hyvin terapeuttista ja tuo lisää väriä ja luovuutta korttiaskarteluun. Mahdollisista sormenjäljistä näkee, että kortti tosiaan on tehty käsin (kaikki saajat eivät sitä välttämättä meinaa uskoa). :)

I read somewhere that it's worth putting your fingers into paint. I tried it and it sure was wort it! It's therapeutic and brings more color and creativity into the cards. From the fingerprints one can see that the card is indeed handmade (because not all believe it). :)

Sormien laittaminen maaliin oli hauskaa, vaikka kortin aihe ei niinkään ollut. Halusin tehdä mahdollisimman upean kortin ja kokeilla jotain uutta (mikä on tarkoitukseni tänä vuonna). Olen erittäin tyytyväinen lopputulokseen! Mutta kyllä sen saavuttaminen kestikin! Uusien juttujen kokeilemisen "huono" puoli on, että tekovaihe on normaalia pidempi. Ja maalin kanssa pitää vielä odotta maalin kuivumista, jotta askartelua voi sen päälle jatkaa. 

Tuputtelin sormin maalia (jotain ihan perusmaalia, jota löysin tavaroiteni seasta) kortin taustaan. Jossain kohdissa voi jopa nähdä sormenjälkeni. :)

It's fun to put fingers into the paint - although the theme for this card was not (it was a condolence card). I wanted to make a really pretty card and at the same time try something new (which is my goal this year). I am very happy with the end result! But it did take a long time to finish. Especially if you try new things, it takes longer. And with paint you have to wait until it dries before continuing.

I painted with random paint I found in my handicraft collection. In some spots you can really see my fingerprints. :)

Kukassa on monta eri kerrosta. Materiaaleina käytin paperikukkia, huopaa ja tylliä. Huovan ja tyllin leikkasin Big Shotin Tattered Florals -leikkurilla. Kukan keskiosassa on itsetehty nappi vanhoista mustista farkuistani.

For the flower I used paper flowers, felt and tulle. The latter two I cut with my Big Shot and the Tattered Florals die. The middle of the flower is a self-made button from my old black jeans.

Kukan alla on pinkkiä (kuvissa se näyttää enemmän punaiselta) ja mustaa lankaa. Kortti oli muuten hyvin mustavalkoinen, mutta halusin siihen edes hieman väriä.

Under the card is pink (in the pictures it looks a lot more red though) and black yarn. This way I could bring some color into the otherwise black and white card.

Jotta pinkki lanka ei olisi ainoa väri, väritin sivun kukkasista muutaman pinkillä tussilla. Kyseinen paperi on kortin sisäpuolella, mutta leikkasin kuviosaksilla kortin reunaa siten, että se näkyy.

I colored some flowers on the side with pink felt-tip pen, so the yarn would not be the only pink color on the card. This paper was on the inside of the card, but I cut some of the side with pattern scissors, so it would be seen.

Taustalle laitoin myös muutaman kiehkuran (Flourish #10) ja glitterliimalla pieniä palluroita. Pidän tosi paljon glitterpisteistä ja tämä glitter ei leviä ympäri kämppää. :)

There are a few curls (Flourish #10) and glitter glue on the background. I really like glitter dots and this glitter doesn't spread all over your apartment. :)

Kortin alaosaan liimasin mustaa ruusunauhaa.

There's a black rose ribbon on the lower part of the card.

Tässä näkyy kortti vielä sivusta kuvattuna.

Aion tulevaisuudessa maalata lisää sormin. Ehkä tästä alkaa mixed media askarteluni! :) Kokeile sinäkin maalata sormin, suosittelen (VINKKI)!

In the future I will paint more with my fingers. Maybe this is the start of my mixed media handicrafting! :) You should also try painting with your fingers, I recommend (TIP)! :)
