Kalakortti / Fish card

Tähän kihlakorttiin pääsivät pääosaan kaksi kalaa, jotka leikkasin 30-luvun eläinkirjasta. 

In this engagement card two fishes are the main characters. I cut them out of an animal book from the 30's. 

Sivusta katsottuna huomaa, että kortissa on mukana pientä kimellystä. 

From the side you can see that the card also has a little sparkle.

Kalojen pyrstyt eivät suinkaan päätyneet roskiin. Hyödynsin ne ATC-korteissa.

The fish tails didn't get binned, because I used them as well! I put them on these two ATC cards.

Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge #13 DT: Marraskuu / November

Marraskuun Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge -haasteessa jäin kiinni happy-sanaan (=iloinen). Se on täydellinen sana syntymäpäiväkorttiin!

In the November challenge in the blog Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge I got stuck with the word happy. That's a perfect word for a birthday card!

Paperilla DT: Isänpäivä / Father's Day

Tänä vuonna tein kaksi täysin erilaista isänpäiväkorttia. Molemmissa käytin Stampotiquen hihhulileimoja, mutta taustat ovat täysin erilaiset.

Ensimmäisessä kortissa on vanhan kirjan sivu, johon Gelli-levyn ja puiden lehtien avulla tein syksyisen taustan. Päälle hihhulit ja roiskeita. Teen yleensä aika runsaita kortteja, mutta tämä ei kaivannut muuta.

In Finland we celebrate Father's Day soon and this year I made two completely different Father's Day cards. I used Stampotique's amazing figures in both, but the backgrounds are completely different.

On the first card is a page of an old book, on which I made a colorful autumn background with my Gelli plate and tree leaves. The figures and some splatters of mists on top. I usually make quite full and colorful cards, but I felt that this one didn't need more. 

Toinen kortti on "perinteisempää" tyyliäni. Siinä on hihhuli ilmapallojen kanssa. Onnitteluteksti on kirjoitettu ilmapalloihin. Hahmo on hieman myrtsin näköinen, mutta ilmapallot tuovat värikästä iloisuutta ja vastakohtaa. :) Taustassa on kaupunkimaisemaa ja kohopostaa sekä maalia leimattuna itsetehdyllä leimalla.

The other card is more in my "traditional" style. There's the figure with balloons. The congratulations are written on the balloons. The figure is a little grumpy looking, but the colorful balloons bring happiness and a fun opposite. :) The background is a cityscape and I added stamped paint (with my own carved stamp) and modelling paste.

Paperilla DT: Karmivat Halloween-kortit / Creepy Halloween cards

Löysin Halloween-aiheisia muotokuvia ja päätin tehdä niiden avulla karmivat Halloween-kortit. Herrasväen kasvot nimittäin muuttuvat, kun niitä katsoo eri kulmasta! Kurkkaa alempaa, miltä heidän todelliset kasvot näyttävät - jos uskallat!

I found Halloween themed portraits and I decided to make creepy Halloween cards with them. The faces of the gentleman and woman will change, when you look from a different angle! See lower on this post what their true faces look like - if you dare!

Käytin kuvan reunolla erilaisia vanhoja papereita, teippiä, vanhoja klemmareita, stanssattuja ja värjättyjä kukkia ja eri kokoisia helmiä. 

I used a variety of old papers, washi tape, old paper clips, die-cut and colored flowers and beads of various sizes.

Muistin ottaa kännykällä kaksi kuvaa pelkästä taustasta ennen kuin suurin osa peittyi.

I remembered to take two pictures with my mobile phone from the backgrounds before they were most covered.

Taustaa on maalattu kahdella eri ruskean sävyisellä maalilla käyttäen telaa. Leimasin siihen verkkoa ja punaisella mistillä valutin veren tahrimia jälkiä yläoikeaan kulmaan. 

The background is painted in two different shades of brown paint using my roller. I stamped nets around and used the red mist to make traces of blood flow down in the upper right corner.

Lopuksi maalasin papereita nestemäisellä Ecoline-vesivärillä ja roiskautin valkoista ja mustaa mistiä päälle.

Finally, I gave the papers some Ecoline watercolor and splashed white and black mist here and there.

Paperilla DT: Jääkaappimagneetti / Fridge magnet

Paperillan tiimissä tehtiin tällä viikolla jääkaappimagneetteja. Halusin koristaa uutta kotiamme valokuvilla. Usein valokuvat jäävät vaan koneelle tai valokuva-albumeihin, eivätkä ole siten hirveästi esillä. Nyt keittössämme on jääkaapin ovessa hauska muisto piristämässä arkiaamuja. Tämä on onneksi aika yksinkertainen tehdä.

In the Paperilla team we made fridge magnets this week. I wanted to decorate our new home photos. Often, photos stay on the computer or in photo albums and are therefore not so visible. Now the refrigerator door in our kitchen has a fun memory to cheer us up in weekday mornings. Luckily, this is quite simple to make.

Leikkasin valokuvan reunat ihan satumanvaraisesti ja alla olevan kierrätyspahvin samalla kuviolla, mutta kuitenkin muutaman millin suuremmaksi. Kartonkipalaan leimasin samalla leimalla useamman kerran melkein päällekäin. Halusin vain hieman "väriä" taustaan. Seuraavaksi liimasin valokuvan kaksipuoleisella teipillä leimattuun kartonkiin.

I cut the edges of the photo randomly and the recycling cardboard with the same pattern, but a few millimeters larger to get the edge for the photo. I stamped the same stamp a few times here and there on the cardboard. I just wanted a little "color" to the background. Then I glued the photo with double-sided tape on the stamped cardboard.

Leimasin valkoista ja sinistä maalia muovisella koeputkella reilusti reunoihin. Kun maali oli vielä kuivaa, ripottelin päälle vähän glitteriäkin. Sain näin hieman lisää talvista tunnelmaa kuvaan, joka oli otettu vuosi sitten joulumarkkinoilta. Viimeinen koristelu tuli tekstitarralla.

I stamped white and blue paint with a plastic test tube to get a painted bubble edge. When the paint was still wet, I sprinkled a bit of glitter on top. I got a little bit more winter atmosphere to the picture, which was taken a year ago at a Christmas market. The final decoration was added with a text sticker.

Sivusta näkyy glitterin välke paremmin. :) 

You can see the glitter shimmer better from the side. :)

Taakse liimasin kaksi suht vapaasti leikattua magneettilevyn palasta. 

Tästä tuli aika kiva jääkaappikoriste! Voisin tehdä näitä lisää vaikka joululahjaksi! :) Käy myös kurkkaamassa lisää magneetti-ideoita Paperillan blogista!

I glued two freely cut pieces of magnet board behind the cardboard.

Jehkotar CRAFTChallenge #12 DT: Lokakuu / October

In this art journal page I put passengers, which fits well with the other theme of this challenge. It's an old photograph, from which the persons are no longer recognized by any of us. Now they are having more adventures in the rain. :)

Art journal -sivuun laitoin myös matkustajia, jotka sopivat hyvin haasteen toiseen aiheeseen. Tämä on vanha valokuva, josta kukaan ei enää tunnista henkilöitä. Nyt he saivat lisäseikkailun sateessa. :)
