Paperilla DT: Jääkaappimagneetti / Fridge magnet

Paperillan tiimissä tehtiin tällä viikolla jääkaappimagneetteja. Halusin koristaa uutta kotiamme valokuvilla. Usein valokuvat jäävät vaan koneelle tai valokuva-albumeihin, eivätkä ole siten hirveästi esillä. Nyt keittössämme on jääkaapin ovessa hauska muisto piristämässä arkiaamuja. Tämä on onneksi aika yksinkertainen tehdä.

In the Paperilla team we made fridge magnets this week. I wanted to decorate our new home photos. Often, photos stay on the computer or in photo albums and are therefore not so visible. Now the refrigerator door in our kitchen has a fun memory to cheer us up in weekday mornings. Luckily, this is quite simple to make.

Leikkasin valokuvan reunat ihan satumanvaraisesti ja alla olevan kierrätyspahvin samalla kuviolla, mutta kuitenkin muutaman millin suuremmaksi. Kartonkipalaan leimasin samalla leimalla useamman kerran melkein päällekäin. Halusin vain hieman "väriä" taustaan. Seuraavaksi liimasin valokuvan kaksipuoleisella teipillä leimattuun kartonkiin.

I cut the edges of the photo randomly and the recycling cardboard with the same pattern, but a few millimeters larger to get the edge for the photo. I stamped the same stamp a few times here and there on the cardboard. I just wanted a little "color" to the background. Then I glued the photo with double-sided tape on the stamped cardboard.

Leimasin valkoista ja sinistä maalia muovisella koeputkella reilusti reunoihin. Kun maali oli vielä kuivaa, ripottelin päälle vähän glitteriäkin. Sain näin hieman lisää talvista tunnelmaa kuvaan, joka oli otettu vuosi sitten joulumarkkinoilta. Viimeinen koristelu tuli tekstitarralla.

I stamped white and blue paint with a plastic test tube to get a painted bubble edge. When the paint was still wet, I sprinkled a bit of glitter on top. I got a little bit more winter atmosphere to the picture, which was taken a year ago at a Christmas market. The final decoration was added with a text sticker.

Sivusta näkyy glitterin välke paremmin. :) 

You can see the glitter shimmer better from the side. :)

Taakse liimasin kaksi suht vapaasti leikattua magneettilevyn palasta.

I glued two freely cut pieces of magnet board behind the cardboard.

Jehkotar CRAFTChallenge #12 DT: Lokakuu / October

In the October challenge in the Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge blog I got inspired by the rainy picture. The challenge can be found here.

In this art journal page I put passengers, which fits well with the other theme of this challenge. It's an old photograph, from which the persons are no longer recognized by any of us. Now they are having more adventures in the rain. :)

Art journal -sivuun laitoin myös matkustajia, jotka sopivat hyvin haasteen toiseen aiheeseen. Tämä on vanha valokuva, josta kukaan ei enää tunnista henkilöitä. Nyt he saivat lisäseikkailun sateessa. :) 

ATC cards inspired by Wanderlust

After a long break I watched videos again from the Waderlust course and loved Carolyn Dube's stars and I wanted to try the same technique myself! I used a large part of my stars on an art journal page, which I won't post here, because it's a little bit too personal. However, I had a few leftover stars and I made two ATC cards with them. At this point, I was already watching the next video and I got a great background idea from Kasia! In these ATC cards I'm adding ideas from two Wanderlust videos. :)

Katsoin pitkästä aikaa taas Wanderlust-kurssin videoita ja tykkäsin kovasti Carolyn Duben tekemistä tähdistä ja halusin kokeilla samaa tekniikkaa itsekin! Käytin ison osan tähdistäni art journal -sivuun, jota en nyt esittele tässä, koska se on vähän liian henkilökohtainen. Muutama tähti jäi kuitenkin yli ja tein kaksi ATC-korttia, johon laitoin ne mukaan. Tässä vaiheessa olin jo seuraavassa videossa ja sain Kasialta hyvän idean taustaan! Näissä ATC-korteissa yhdistyy siis ideoita kahdelta videolta. :)

International ATC swap: Finland - Belgium

I participated in the spring in an international ATC exchange organized by Mustakatti. The theme was summer and something had to be stamped. My snail was perfect for this! :) I made five of these snail ATC and one different one for the exchange host in Belgium.

Osallistuin keväällä Mustakatin järjestämään kansainväliseen ATC-vaihtoon. Aiheena oli kesä ja jotain piti olla leimattu. Etana-leimani sopi siis täydellisesti! :) Kortteja tehtiin tällä kertaa viisi kappaletta ja yksi erilainen vaihtomaan emännälle.

I used same techniques in the extra card, but it still became different.

Käytin extrakortissa samoja tekniikoita, mutta siitä tuli kuitenkin ihan erinäköinen.

I didn't post these earlier (spring is quite some time ago already), because I wanted to add the decorated cardboard box, which we got as a challenge gift from the Belgian hostess. Sadly I haven't had the time to make it yet, so I will have to post is separately later. The idea I have already! :)

En aiemmin postannut näitä kortteja (onhan keväästä jo aikaa), koska halusin lisätä tähän vielä koristellun kartonkilaatikon, joka saatiin haastelahjaksi Belgian emännältä. En ole harmikseni ehtinyt tehdä sitä vielä eli se pitää sitten postaa erikseen. Idea on nyt kuitenkin jo! :)

The card is a triple-fold card, which has an ATC taped inside. The base of the card was made out of a cardboard with Gelli print on it. Then I added e.g. stamping and embellishments. The "doors" I shut with brads and string.

Kortti on triple-fold -mallinen, jonka sisällä on teipattu ATC-kortti. Pohja kortille oli Gelli-levyllä printattu kartonki. Siihen sitten lisäsin mm. toistona verkkoleimaa ja koristeita. "Ovet" suljin haaraniiteillä ja narulla.

In my inspiration I made three more ATC cards. :)

Tein innokkasti yhden ATC-kortin sijaan vielä kolme lisää. :)

Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge #11 DT: Syyskuu / September

Hienoja uutisia! "Kesätyöni" jälkeen minut pyydettiin mukaan jatkamaan Jehkottaren CRAFTchallenge DT-tiimissä. Mahtavaa, jee!! On ilo ja kunnia olla edelleen mukana tässä lahjakkaassa tiimissä! 

Syyskauden ensimmäiseen haasteeseen (löytyy täältä!) minulla on kortti embossatuilla kukilla. Kun näin haasteen, minulle tuli heti mieleeni uusi leimani! Siitä se sitten lähti. :)

Great news! After my "summer job" I was asked to continue in the DT team from the blog Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge. Wonderful!! It is a pleasure and an honor to still be a member of this talented team!

For the first challenge of the autumn season (can be found here!) I have a card with embossed flowers. When I saw this challenge, my new stamp came to my mind. That's where it then started. :)

Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge kesä-DT: Elokuu / August

My "summer Job" in Jehkotar CRAFTchallenge's blog ends now in August. This is my last work as a member of the DT group. The challenge can be found here.

Inspiroiduin aidan verkkomaisesta muodosta ja tein omaa kollaasipaperia leimaamalla verkkoa sikin sokin silkkipaperille. Revin siitä sopivan kokoisia paloja ja liimasin niitä taustaan. Keskellä tätä art journal -sivua on vanha valokuva, jonka sain sukulaiselta. Annan kuville uuden näin elämän.

I was inspired by the fence's net-shape and I made my own collage paper by stamping randomly on tissue paper. I tore pieces of it and glued them on the background. In the middle of this art journal page is an old photo that I got from a relative. I'm giving these old pictures a new life.

Innostuin käyttämään verkkopaperiani uudestaan ja tein kukkakortinkin. :)

I got so excited about my new paper, that I also made a flower card with it. :)
