ArtGrupa ATC December

 

Vuoden viimeisessä Art Grupa -haasteessa tehtiin ATC-kortteja teemalla Tähti. En halunut tehdä ”tylsiä” tähtikortteja, joten tein seriffikortit. :)

In the last Art Grupa challenge we made ATC with the theme Stars. I didn’t want to make “boring” star cards so I made a sheriff. :)

Joulukalentereita / Advent journals

 

Osallistun tänä vuonna (ainakin) kahteen mixed media -joulukalenteriin ja tein niihin molempiin omat art journalit. Kävin aiemmin syksyllä Espoon työväenopistolla haitarikirjakurssilla ja opin tekemään siellä helppoja haitarikirjoja. Sain lisäksi hyviä ideoita uusiin haitarikirjoihin ja toteutin niitä nyt.

This year, I will participate in (at least) two mixed media advent calendars and I made my own art journals for both. Earlier in the autumn, I went to ta book binding course, where I learned to make accordion books. I also got good ideas for new accordion books and made some of them now.

Ensimmäiseen joulukalenteriin tein kovakantisen haitarikirjan. Papereina tietenkin kierrätyspapereita, jotka tällä kertaa ompelin toisiinsa kiinni. Osan liimasin toisiinsa maalarinteipillä. Tähän kirjaan tein useita extra-sivuja, koska ajattelin käyttää tätä myös tänä vuonna December Daily -päiväkirjana. 

For the first journal, I made a hardcover accordion book. The papers, of course, were recycled papers from my big stash. This time I sewed the pages together and some I taped with masking tape. I made several extra pages for this book, because I thought of using this as my December Daily as well.

Toisen joulukalenterin toteutin yksinkertaisemmin. Halusin tehdä myös tämän helpon haitarin ja se sopi hyvin tähän, koska sivuja on sopivasti 24. Paperina käytin A3-kokoista mixed media -paperia. Kansi on erillinen, joka sitoo paketin yhteen.

The second journal is more simple. I also wanted to try to make this easy accordion book and it suited well for this advent calendar purpose, because there are exactly 24 pages. I used a A3 mixed media paper. The cover is separate, which binds this package together.

Askarteluvuoren ATC-vaihto #59: Ota kantaa

 

Osallistuin marraskuussa Askarteluvuoren ATC-vaihtoon, jossa oli teemana "Ota kantaa". Pidin teemasta niin paljon, että päätin tehdä samoista aiheista samalla art journal -sivut. Vaihtoon tehtiin kolme ATC-korttia kolmella eri aiheella.

In November I participated in the ATC exchange of the Finnish exchange group, which now had the theme “Take a stand”. I liked the theme so much that I decided to make the same topics in my art journal. For the swap we made three ATC cards with three different topics.

ArtGrupa ATC November

 

Marraskuussa teimme ArtGrupa ATC -blogin haasteeseen sinisiä kortteja. Oli mukava tehdä väriteemaan korttisarja.

In the November challenge in the ArtGrupa ATC blog we made ATC with the theme Blue. It was nice to make a card series with a colour theme.

Käytin pohjassa sinisiä kollaasipapereita. Tosin niiden sinisyys ei juurikaan lopputuloksessa enää näy. :)

I used blue collage papers in the background, but you can barely see them in the final result anymore. :)

OKTK DT #68: Marraskuu / November

 

Marraskuussa OKTK ("Oletko Koskaan Tehnyt Korttia") -haasteessa tehtiin Steampunk-kortti käyttämällä vanhoja teollisen oloisia materiaaleja, kuten nahkaa ja muttereita. Omassa ATC-kortissani käytin nahkaa, paineventtiilin metallilaattaa ja ruostunutta ruuvia.

In November in the OKTK ("Have you ever made a card") challenge we made ATC in the Steampunk style and additionally using industrial-type materials like leather and screws. In my ATC I used a piece of leather, a pressure valve's metal plate and a rusted screw.

Alimmassa kerroksessa on nahkapala, joka sai päälleen gessoa. Tämä nahkapala on huonekaluliikkeen verhoilumallipala. Ne ovat tosi hyödyllisiä mixed media -projekeihin. :)

In the lowest layer there's the leather piece that was covered with gesso. This leather piece is a specimen for furniture upholstery. They are very useful for mixed media projects. :)

Sitten lisäsin venttiilin metallilaatan, joka sai myös gessot päälle.

Then I added the valve's plate that was also covered with gesso.

Jehkotar Craft Challenge DT #61: Marraskuu / November

Marraskuun JCC-haasteessa valitsin bingorivin: leikekuva - vapaa (valitsin tapetti) - teksti käsin kirjoitettu. Tykkään nykyään käyttää lehdistä ja kirjoista leikattuja kuvia (etenkin lintuja) ja taustaa on kiva koristaa hieman käsin kirjoitetulla tekstillä. Siitä ei ole tarkoituskaan saada selvää. Kirjoitan taustalle ajatuksia tai jotain ihan vaan mitä tulee mieleen. Vapaaksi valitsin tapetin, koska sain tapettikirjoja askarteluun ja olen niistä superinnoissani! Yksi niistä on paksu kirja täynnä valkoisia tapetteja, joissa on vaikka mitä tekstuuria. Niistähän saa tehtyä vaikka mitä ja värin voi vielä valita itse. Aarteita!

In the November JCC challenge, I chose the bingo line: cut picture - free (I chose wallpaper) - handwritten text. Nowadays I really like to use pictures cut from magazines and books (especially birds) and the background is nice to decorate with a little handwritten text. The text is not meant to be read and therefore clear. I write thoughts or whatever something in the background. As the free option I chose wallpaper, because I got a few wallpaper sample books and I am super excited about them! One of them is a thick book full of white wallpapers with different kinds of texture. You can make anything out of them and you can choose the color yourself. Treasures!

Tämä tapettikirja on yksi minun uusimmista aarteistani. Näiden kanssa pitää kyllä olla oikeassa paikassa oikeaan aikaan kysymässä. Toisen roska on taas kerran toisen aarre!

This book is one of my newest treasures. With these you really have to be asking at the right time in the right place. This wallpaper sample book is again a great example how someone’s trash can be someone else’s treasure.
